Pool Service and Repair in Phoenix, AZ

Every pool service and repair we offer in Phoenix, on one page. Weekly cleaning, equipment repairs and installations, specialty work like acid washes and green pool cleanups, commercial pool care and full remodels. All of it comes from one KA-5 licensed crew based in North Phoenix. Pick the service that matches your problem, or call and describe what the pool is doing.

One license, whole pool

Service and Repair From the Same Licensed Crew

Most Phoenix pool companies split the work. A cleaning route keeps the water clear, and when the pump starts screaming they hand you a number for someone else. We hold an Arizona KA-5 dual contractor license, which covers both service and construction. So the tech who brushes your pool on Tuesday works for the same company that replaces the pump on Thursday.

That matters more here than most places. Phoenix water sits in the 90s all summer, hard city water scales up heaters and salt cells, and monsoon dust clogs filters overnight. A crew that only cleans sees the problem coming and cannot fix it. A crew that only repairs never sees it coming at all.

It also widens what a repair can be. Our scuba-capable techs replace drain covers, fix in-floor cleaning heads and free stuck lights underwater, so a job that would normally start with a drain and refill usually does not.

Why The Pool Shack

Why Phoenix Pool Owners Use One Company for Service and Repair

The desert is hard on pools. Intense sun, hard water and monsoon dust push a pool out of balance fast, and the equipment pays for it. Our license is on file with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors. Here is how we work around the desert.

KA-5 dual license

Service and construction under one Arizona ROC license, so repairs and remodels are legal, insured and ours to stand behind.

Common questions

Pool Service and Repair Questions We Get Asked

It depends on the part. A capacitor, seal or gauge is a small ticket. A heater or variable-speed pump swap runs into the thousands, usually $1,500 to $3,500 installed in Phoenix. We quote before we touch anything.

Fix it if the motor is under about eight years old and the repair costs less than half of a new pump. Past that, a variable-speed replacement usually pays for itself in Phoenix power bills within two summers.

Circulation, cleaning and chemistry. In Phoenix that means running the pump 8 to 12 hours in summer, brushing and emptying baskets weekly, and testing chlorine, pH and stabilizer often, because the sun burns chlorine off faster here than almost anywhere.

Before service, most Phoenix pool owners spend somewhere around $1,500 to $3,000 a year on power, water and chemicals, with summer pump run time the biggest line. A variable-speed pump and a working water leveler cut the most.

Not expected. Techs are paid a wage, and most would rather have a Google review or a cold water in July. If someone goes past the route, like a same-day fix after a storm, a tip is appreciated, never assumed.

Daytime. Chlorine demand peaks while the sun is on the water, so that is when the pump and any salt cell should be running. Off-peak power plans save less than they look once you factor in a green pool.

Keep free chlorine near the top of its range, 7 to 8 ppm on a salt pool, with stabilizer at 70 to 80 ppm so it survives the sun. Hold pH around 7.2 to 7.6 and test weekly in summer.

Phoenix fill water is hard, and evaporation leaves the calcium behind, so hardness climbs past 400 ppm and plates onto the cell. Keep pH down, clean the cell on schedule, and consider a soft-water autofill or a partial drain.

Most Phoenix pools should have one. Summer evaporation takes roughly a quarter inch a day, and a pump that runs dry for a weekend is a repair bill. A water leveler keeps the skimmer fed while you are away.

Call when it involves electricity, gas, a heater, a leak, filter pressure that will not come down, or a pool still green after three days of shocking. Chemistry and skimming you can handle. Equipment mistakes get expensive fast.
